tuoli design は、ひとりのふつうのサラリーマンがひとつの椅子のデザインを通して、「やさしい空間」づくりを目指しています。
tuoli design が製作しているただ一つの椅子。アーチ形状の脚の構造を持つ、「arch chair（アーチチェア）」を介し、日本の山林整備に貢献し、山から川、川から海の環境保全活動に役立てる仕組みづくりを目指しています。これまで北海道の工房様にて試作を製作。第2弾として長野の工房様にて軽量化を達成した試作も完成しました。今後も製造をお願いできるパートナー様を探しております。地元の材を使用して、各地の山林環境の改善に貢献できる活動をしていくため、多くの方と話しをしたいと思っています。もちろん、海外のメーカー、販売店、ホテル、や公共施設のみなさま、みなさまの拠点の木材を使い、地元の山と海の環境保全を一緒に行いたいと思っています。

tuoli design is the personal brand of a corporate professional dedicated to environmental conservation through chair design. Through the “arch chair” with its arch-shaped leg structure, the one and only chair produced by tuoli design, we aim to contribute to the sustainable management of Japan’s forests and mountains, and to develop a system that fosters environmental conservation from mountains to rivers, and from rivers to the sea.
The first prototypes were made at a workshop in Hokkaido, and the second ones are currently being fabricated at a workshop in Nagano, but I am still looking for partners who can collaborate with me on future production.
I aim to contribute to the restoration of forest environments across various regions by using locally sourced materials, hoping to connect with like-minded individuals who share my vision and commitment to this mission, including overseas manufacturers, retailers, hotels, and public facilities, by using wood from the regions where they are based; and to work together to protect and preserve the local forests and marine environments.
Basic philosophy of tuoli design:
・Use local materials as much as possible from the manufacturing base
・Explore ways to use materials that will be useful for forest conservation in various regions
・think every day about providing items that can contribute to creating a "comfortable space."
